Sri Guru Gobind Singh College of Commerce, founded in 1984, as the second commerce college of the University of Delhi, is a premier institute, specializing in commerce, economics, business studies and computer science. The college is recognized for academic excellence. The college is sponsored by the Delhi Sikh Gurudwara Management Committee, a statutory body, constituted under an Act of Parliament. The facilities include spacious class-rooms, sprawling grounds, a well-equipped library, a state of the art auditorium, highly sophisticated computer labs, seminar hall and conference room along with disabled friendly ramps and a spacious eight person elevator in the teaching block.

The Training and Placement Cell was incorporated in January 2005, with an aim of providing the students with best of the placement opportunities to help them kick start their careers. As a society the cell focuses on placements as well as institutionalizes the process of providing internships and articleships. The Placement Cell also focuses to groom the students into well-rounded leaders who have a strong rooting in functional expertise, a realistic real time understanding of the business and technical world, an action oriented decision making skills and above all high level of ethics and integrity. Many renowned companies like EY, Deloitte, KPMG, PwC, Wipro, Dell, Grant Thornton, TPDDL, Toppr Learning, Byjus, Paytm and Ken Research visited the campus for recruitment in the past.
